The film ‘Rusty Odyssey’
depicts the colonial faces of
three copper coins (VOC
Duit, Japanese Sen, and the
Euro coin) tracing their guilty
chronicle from the 18th
century till the present day in
the Netherlands, Japan, and
Korea.
The artist investigated and discovered the hidden truths of colonial traces piece by piece while creating the film. Through spatial qualities, the exhibition design intended to showcase the film- making process metaphorically.
The audience can catch a glimpse of the carved text on the fragmented glasses at the moment of reflecting the film during the exhibition.
